Toyota Corolla

I was ‘Highly commended’ by Toyota for this piece of artwork which was part of a competition within my class. For this piece of work I found my inspiration through the British landscape and in particular the Peak District due to its proximity to where the Corolla is manufactured. The Corolla is a family car and I wanted to convey the message that it can help a family have fun together enjoying the best of British life. For the creative process I started with a sketch of the Peak District, adding in layers of different elements that might be found there that demonstrate the enjoyment of all that is British.  It took me a long time to add in all the elements, and where the placement of each element worked best.  I also played with colours and a few textures to see what worked.  We had about 4 weeks to complete this brief. The message and feeling I want people to take away from this is how the Corolla is such a big part in family life, adventures and excitement. I have been driven in a Toyota Hilux and have a memory of a family friend giving me a driving lesson in a Hilux in a field when I was younger. When I think of Toyota as a brand I think of a reliable global brand with the aim to include everyone with everything from family cars,  4X4 off road vehicles and cars suitable for people who may have mobility issues. Toyota isn’t just a car brand it’s much more. It wants to “support the sustainable development in society”.
